Monorail Tips
Disclaimer: Here you will find ideas that can help you experience the hidden magic...even with the crowds that rarely ever go away. These are suggestions from my personal experience or from the experiences shared by others.
TIP 1: Take the Resort Monorail when leaving!
After a long day at the Magic Kingdom, your feet hurt, you’re tired, and then you face a long line for the monorail, right? Here’s a tip that a MK Cast Member told me. Join the RESORT MONORAIL line. It is always shorter and it goes to the parking lot, as well!!!!
Tips to help with long wait lines

Stay late: Towards the end of the night, Disney wants visitors to make their way to the exit, (understandably). One of their tricks is to add time to the "Wait Time" signs at many rides. Think about it. It's late. You're tired. Would YOU wait 90 for one last ride? Of course not! And that is what Disney banks on.

Disney will not kick you out of line once you are in it no matter how late it is. Given that the wait time is closer to half as long or less than the advertised time, it behooves the visitor to jump in line just before closing time. Your wait will be much shorter than you expected!!

Single Rider Line: If you are alone or not dead set on riding together, many rides offer a Single Rider option. This helps Disney make the most of every ride by filling every seat. You will NOT sit with your companions, but you will not wait as long. Once I even got to ride with my companion, but that was a fluke!

ROPE DROP: "Rope Drop" is a term referring to the time visitors are allowed to enter ride areas. Most Disney planning sites recommend being at any park prior to its opening and taking advantage of being an "early bird."

Magic Kingdom Rope Drop suggestions: MK typically allows visitors through the turnstiles 60 minutes prior to entire park opening. Guests are allowed to wander Main Street, but not go past. Once official park hours arrive, cast members will slowly walk guests back towards the different lands. Head towards your most coveted ride immediately. There will definitely already be a wait, but nothing like the rest of the day!

EPCOT Rope Drop suggestions: EPCOT turnstiles typically start 15-30 minutes prior to official park hours. When they do open, take the path to the right!!! People think they are out-smarting others by going left, but they will be sent back to the right side!)

EPCOT World Showcase has a later opening time, usually around 11:00.

Hollywood Studios: Turnstiles typcially open 30 minutes prior to official park hours. Similar to EPCOT, there is a trick. The FAR LEFT turnstiles are reserved for people with Breakfast reservations to be able to get in. If you "hang around" the turnstiles at the left side, you can blend right into the reservations line once the other turnstiles are opened. It's not cheating...it's smart.

Animal Kingdom: Turnstile opening varies from 15 to 60 minutes prior to opening. Similar to Hollywood Studios, the FAR RIGHT turnstile is reserved for people with Breakfast reservations. But once the other turnstiles open anyone can go through the one on the far right. Linger around there until time and you will get in pretty quickly.
